Discover the many ways that yoga can promote the healthy development of children. Find out how the practice of yoga parallels and supports other therapeutic modalities in addressing difficulties with attention, self-regulation, speech and language, learning, and high and low muscle tone.
Yoga teaches children to have fun and move their bodies in a non-competitive environment. While practicing yoga, kids can benefit from:
• building strength and flexibility
• increasing concentration and focus
• improved coordination and posture
• identifying ways to relax and calm their bodies
• expressing creativity and imagination
* improve self-esteem and confidence
* enhancing self awareness
Tamara will focus on teaching yoga to children of all ages. It is her passion and personal mission to share the gift of yoga with children; to educate and inspire them to open their hearts and minds, explore their inner gifts, know their inner selves, and live in peace. "Children have an innate capacity to live joyfully in the moment. By introducing yoga at a young age, they learn to take that capacity, and their integrated sense of self, into their adult lives."
